What is IgE and IgG testing

IgE testing is an allergen-specific immunoglobulin E test to measures the level of different IgE antibodies. Antibodies are made in human body by the immune system to protect the body against bacteria, viruses, and other allergens.

An allergen-specific IgE test could be done to find out some kinds of allergies, immune system problem, or infection with a parasite. These includes category of food, animal dander, pollen, mold, medicine, dust mites, latex, or insect venom.

The level of IgE antibodies could be found higher when the body overreacts to allergens, and this can leads to an immediate allergic reaction.

What is IgG testing ?

An individual’s immune system reacts to food protein and produce IgG antibodies. These antibodies leads to chronic inflammation in the body which in turn leads to chronic health conditions.

Food sensitivity is a non specific term and not a synonym for food allergy. It characteristically give rise to a delayed response following exposure to a particular antigen.

Sensitivities have been linked to migraine, irritable bowel syndrome, mood disturbances, weight gain, joints pain, etc.
